چکیده

Abstract Ulva Lactuca and Sargassum sp. are rapidly expanding algae that can be used as a source of bioenergy. Due to its high moisture inorganic content, the direct use for energy purposes is deep. Therefore, thermochemical processing, such pyrolysis, required produce useful products, bio-oil. This study seeks undertake detailed investigation bio-oil production from provide information continued commercialization. The pyrolysis was investigated within temperature range 400-600 °C reaction time 10-50 min. highest proportion retrieved at 500 with yields between 18.5 30.2 wt%. As rose 600 °C, slightly increased, but prolonged did not significantly increase in yields. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) employed elucidate chemical composition found product. results showed phenolic compounds increased 9.64 16.73 area% an temperature. were obtained about 13.25% 16.73%, respectively. variations distribution total phenols may due species, sediment, surrounding water quality. achieved possible yield indicates potential renewable resins.

Antioxidant capacity, polyphenol content and iron bioavailability from algae (Ulva sp., Sargassum sp. and Porphyra sp.) in human subjects.

Marine algae are easily produced and are good sources of Fe. If this Fe is bioavailable, algae consumption could help to combat Fe deficiency and anaemia worldwide. The objective of the present study was to evaluate Fe bioavailability, polyphenol content and antioxidant capacity from three species of marine algae distributed worldwide. A total of eighty-three subjects received maize- or wheat-b...
